"Hidden" Parts of Pages
Some properties of a web page are hidden to some degree, but they should still be edited for a number of reasons outlined below.
Title
In Contribute, the title can be modified by choosing "Page Properties" from the "Format" pull down menu.
The title of a web page shows up at the top of the web browser's window. It also is the heading of many search engine result entries, such as google. For these reasons a good title should be included in the page. The title tag is also used as the words to describe your page when someone adds it to their "Favorites" or "Bookmarks" lists. The text you use in the title tag is one of the most important factors in how a search engine may decide to rank your web page (see the Search Engine Placement Tips section for more details). In addition, all major crawlers will use the text of your title tag as the text they use for the title of your page in your listings. - from http://www.searchenginewatch.com
Description
The description may search engine results. It also shows up in some search engine result entries. It also improves accessibility for people using screen readers. Since they may not visually scan a page, a description helps them decide to not read you page more quickly.
Google does not use the description in the results it displays or in looking for search terms. Instead the description on the Google results page is based on snippets of text on your page that match the search words being used (See http://www.google.com/webmasters/3.html#A5)
Keywords
Keywords are used by some search engines, but not many. Search engine habits change over time, so its a good idea to put some key words in here. In addition to words that are used in the body of your document, use words that someone might search for also. For example if your page is about technology and computers, but the terms never actually appear on your page, add them to the keywords. Words and phrases should be separated by commas and limited to 25 in total. - from http://www.searchenginewatch.com
