Accessing WebDAV-enabled folders on Windows 98 and NT Machines
On Windows 98 and NT machines, a web folder may be created within "My Computer" in "Web Folders." Instructions follow:Step 1. Double Click on the "My Computer" Icon on your desktop.
Step 2. Double Click on the "Web Folders" Icon.
Step 3. Double Click on "Add Web Folder" Icon.
Step 4. In the Add Web Folder dialog box, type your WebDAV URL and click on Next. (Typical WebDAV URLs include https://www-s.ed.uiuc.edu/students/jdoe, https://www-s.ed.uiuc.edu/staff/jdoe, https://www-s.ed.uiuc.edu/faculty/jdoe,etc.) The computer may need to install additional software at this point for WebDAV to function.

Step 5. You will now be asked to authenticate. Do the following:
- Type "UIUC\" followed by your UIUC net ID after "User name:" .
- Type in your Active Directory Account password after "Password" .
- Be sure to uncheck "Save this password in your password list" so others using that computer will not have access to your folder.
- Click on "OK" .

Step 6. Enter a name for your folder and click on finish.

Step 6. Your web folder will now open up on your desktop, though you may need to authenticate again. A shortcut to it will also be available in "My Computer" within "Web Folders".
