Accessing WebDAV-enabled Folders

Introduction

WebDAV is a protocol used to manage files and folders on web servers. We recommend using WebDAV when accessing folders through the Macintosh Chooser or Windows Neighborhood Network is problematic. (see Network Support Page for other ways to access COE Servers.)

The following applications and operating systems support WebDAV:

  • Newer Microsoft operating systems (Win 98, NT 4.0+ and all 2000 versions) and applications (Office 2000, Internet Explorer 5+,...)
  • Web Authoring Software: Macromedia Dreamweaver 4, Adobe GoLive 5, Microsoft Front Page
  • MacOS X Operating System.
A more complete list of applications supporting WebDAV is available at: http://www.ics.uci.edu/~ejw/authoring/ . For a webDAV application to work on the College of Education Web server it must also support SSL.

WebDAV publishing is available within the College of Education on the College of Education Web Server. Your WebDAV URL (The URL used to edit your site) is different from the public URL of your site (the URL people use to view your site). Below are some examples.
