Server Access Privileges
Currently, the College servers provide network file space mainly to faculty, staff, and project/grant affiliated personnel. For the most part, students do not have private folders on the servers, but may have access to course related or department/grant based folders on the servers.
Requesting Privileges to College of Education Servers.
Server access privileges may be requested in the following ways:
- Faculty and staff User Web Folder creation and access privilege requests are done on the COE Intranet ( https://www-s.ed.uiuc.edu/intranet/webs/ ) in the "Faculty, Staff, and Student User Web Folders" and "Courses" sections. Students can not create their own User Web Folders, they must be created by an instructor in a class which is using User Web Folders.
- File server requests are made at: https://webtools.uiuc.edu/formBuilder/OrganizationSecure?id=5808179
- All other COE Server access privileges are requested on the COE Intranet ( https://www-s.ed.uiuc.edu/intranet/accountrequests/ ) using the "Access Privileges Request Form".
When you are given access privileges to a server, you will receive a confirmation email (except student user web folders) with your directory's location (server name, share name, and directory path). Directions on connecting to servers once you have privileges are found under the "Connecting to COE Servers" section in the left menu.
