Hosted by the College of Education

Barb Geissler, Directory of Budget & Resource Planning
Kim Nystrom, Database Administrator

Summary

The Banner/EDW system has unified processes across campus -- offering much potential in the sharing of resources.  The College of Education has developed an application for easier reporting and analysis of Banner EDW Finance/HR data and CITES telecom data.  We showcase our application with the intent of sharing our work.

This brownbag is directed towards university business staff and application developers.  Topics covered will include:

  • a step through of the database forms, functions and reports
  • a cursory outline of the backend database EDW refresh
  • a review of the tables and sql comprising the core views
  • the requisites for partial or full implementation
  • a discussion on opportunities and methods to collaborate

Intended Audience and Skill Level

Both business staff and their unit's application developer are encouraged to attend.  The strength of this application is built off of strong interaction between these two parties, and especially the leadership of staff.  An SQL Server is helpful, but not requisite for some level of implementation.

Deliverables

Attendees should leave with a clear map of the steps involved in implementing this application.  Attendees will be given source sql and the MS Access database forms and reports (Access database will be distributed post-event).

Please feel free to contact us with feedback or questions regarding this application.
