College of Education External User Accounts
Overview
COE External accounts are for people not directly associated with the University of Illinois but who need access to College of Education resources such as web forms, file space, and database data. People who might use COE External accounts include cooperating teachers, collaborating researchers from other institutions, and College of Education alumni accessing User Webs. COE External accounts are created on a case-by-case basis as access to resources are needed.
Current UIUC faculty, staff, and students will use their campus Active Directory (AD) account to access COE resources and will NOT have COE External Accounts, unless they are in a transition phase such as graduation. All COE External account user names start with "ed-"
Requesting an External User Account
An account request must be made by a College faculty or staff member and must include a programmatic justification. This is usually not a problem as most accounts created are a result of consultation with faculty or staff in the pursuit of solutions to a resource-sharing need. To request an External User Account, contact User Services at 244-6053.
