Facilities and Equipment
The Office of the Chief Information Officer supports the effective integration of technology in teaching, learning, and working through numerous facilities available to our faculty, staff, and students.
Instructional Computing Lab (ICL)
The Instructional Computing Lab offers dual-boot computers containing Windows XP and Macintosh X to College of Education faculty, staff, and students. The lab has has open hours throughout the day and is often reserved for courses within the College of Education. To find out more about what the ICL has to offer, please visit the ICL page.
Mobile Wireless Computing Labs
In addition to the ICL, the College has six mobile wireless computing labs as a resource for instruction. Four Windows XP mobile labs, with a total of 60 computers, and two Mac OS X mobile labs, with a total of 30 computers, have been used throughout the College of Education building. Center for Technologies in Teaching & Learning (CTTL)
The Center for Technologies in Teaching & Learning seeks to increase the media skills and usage among faculty, staff, and students within the College of Education and/or affiliated with its activities. The Center is a space where visitors can design, produce, deliver, and assess media projects related to teaching, learning, and research. User Services
User Services is the main point of contact for technical support, trouble tickets, andconsulting. Consultants at User Services are available for a wide variety of services, including troubleshooting hardware and software. For more information, please visit the User Services page.
Equipment Checkout
A substantial library of equipment is maintained that can be checked out on a limited basis by College of Education faculty, staff, and students. This equipment— including laptops, projectors, and digital cameras—has been a critical College resource in undergraduate and graduate instruction, educational research, and administration. Media-Equipped Classrooms
Nearly all classrooms within the College of Education are equipped with computer and media equipment to enhance instruction. A complete list of rooms, equipment, and policies and procedures can be found here, or by contacting Educational Computing and Media.
Videoconferencing Facility
The Office of the Chief Information Officer offers ISDN and IP multipoint videoconferencing services to the College of Education, as well as the entire University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign campus. For more information, please contact Educational Computing and Media.
