Military families\, single parent/teen parent fa milies\, gay/lesbian parent families\, adoptive/foster families\, nuclear/ dual income families and grandparents raising grandchildren are among some of the family dynamics presented. The pitfalls of using a 'One Size Fits All' approach to teaming with families will also be discussed.\n\nIndividu al reflection\, group work\, and lively discussion are part of this intera ctive training that will help equip early interventionists in recognizing the needs of diverse families\, assist them in family competence\, help na vigate the complex emotions that can occur and generate a holistic interve ntion practice for children with disabilities within the modern family.\n\ nThis training series in presented in two full day sessions with a require d 'homework' component between sessions in which participants will view a video and write a response. \n\nParticipants are required to complete all components in order to receive 12 hours of early intervention credential c redit.
