Dr. Jose Mestre named NAE Mentor

We are happy to announce that Dr. Jose Mestre, professor of both Physics & Educational Psychology at UIUC, has been name a National Academies Education Mentor in the Life Sciences for the 2007-2008 academic year.  This honor was "bestowed by virtue of his serving as a committed mentor to other participants at the 2007 National Academies Summer Institute on Undergraduate Education in Biology" which was held Summer 2007 in Madison, Wisconsin. 

Groups of faculty members from 13 universities all gathered at the University of Wisconsin in Madison for four days last summer for meetings and presentations to try to improve undergraduate education. This summer institute is a result of the 2003 National Research Council's report Bio2010: Transforming Undergraduate Education for Future Research Biologists.
